When the salmon run, the coastal brown bears come down to the rivers to fish. From a small fly-in camp, with experienced bear guides, this journey spends whole days on the riverbanks, watching the bears work the shallows.
Day 1 · Anchorage
Arrival in Anchorage and an evening briefing.
Day 2 · Fly in
A floatplane flight over the mountains to camp, and a first walk to the river.
Days 3 to 6 · On the river
Guided days at the fishing spots, photographing bears as they chase salmon, and mothers teaching their cubs. Evenings reviewing photographs in camp.
Day 7 · Return to Anchorage
A last morning on the river, then the flight back to Anchorage.
