itinerary

Yala has one of the highest densities of leopards in the world. This journey gives them time: long drives at the best hours of the day, in a private jeep with only four guests, so everyone has a clear line of sight and nobody has to leave a sighting early.

Day 1 · Colombo to Yala

Met on arrival and driven south along the coast to a lodge on the edge of the park. Evening briefing on the week, the light and your camera settings.

Days 2 to 6 · Yala

Full days in the park with dawn and late-afternoon drives, resting through the midday heat. Time with leopards, sloth bears, elephants and the birdlife of the lagoons, and evening reviews of the day’s photographs.

Day 7 · Bundala wetlands

A morning among the flamingos, painted storks and waders of Bundala, then a final afternoon drive in Yala.

Day 8 · Return to Colombo

A last early drive for those who want it, then the journey back to Colombo or the airport.
